“BILL MILLER, PLACER (Football, Tennis): Miller coached at Placer from 1973-82, where his football teams compiled a 93-18-1 record. They won seven league titles and five SJS championships (1975-77 and 1980-81). The 11-0 team in 1980 won the ‘mythical’ CalHiSports Class AA state championship. He was named the 1976 Sac Joaquin Section football coach of the year. He was also the Placer girls tennis coach formany years, where they became one of the state’s top teams. They won 12 league titles and never lost a league match. He was the girls tennis coach when they won SJS championships in 1987 and 1989-97; a total of nine Section titles. His overall record in girls tennis was 259-13.”
