Riding a wave of momentum that has seen them outscore opponents 181-34 over the last three games, Placer (3-1) returns home to face Vista Del Lago (1-3) tonight in the final preseason tuneup.
The Hillmen, who have been lighting up the scoreboard at a blistering pace so far this season, scoring touchdowns on 26 of their last 29 possessions, will be without FB Cole Blackwell tonight, but have several players who are more than capable of stepping up. Jared Halbert (187 yards, five TDs) will get the start at fullback. WR/CB Dom Perez also returns to action tonight, adding another weapon to Placer’s potent offensive attack.
The Hillmen defense which has been dominating over the past three games, will face their stiffest challenge to date as they will go up against an Eagle offense which has averaged 43 points per game this season. Vista Del Lago QB Matt Jimison (1,035 yards passing, 12 TDs) has several talented weapons at his disposal. RBs Dylan Hacket (301 yards, 2 TDs), Colby Carrera (321 yards, 6 TDs) headline a strong backfield, and WRs Blake Martin (26 catches, 264 yards, 3 TDs) and Brad Rittenhouse (19 catches, 233 yards, 3 TDs) lead a well rounded offense for the Eagles.
