HILLMEN POUND PIONEER 46-14 IN HOME OPENER

Fresh off their impressive victory against Nevada Union last week, the Hillmen (2-0) returned to the friendly confines of LeFebvre Stadium and turned in another solid all around effort, pounding Pioneer 46-14 in the home opener. Quarterback Marcus Ante was impressive once again, throwing for three more touchdowns, two to wide receiver Joe Robinson and one to tight end Derek Haney, as Placer jumped out to a 24-0 lead and never looked back.  Running backs Owen Scott, Waylen Cozad, and Mikey Ferreria also added touchdown runs for the Hillmen. On the defensive side of the ball, Placer gave the Pioneer offense fits all night long. Ryan Huston picked off three Elijah Fields passes, and Michael Downen recorded three sacks.
